FAQ✒️

How to reload it?

🟣 Reloading .350 Legend ammunition can be a rewarding and cost-effective way to shoot this cartridge. However, it’s essential to approach the reloading process with caution and follow safety guidelines. Here’s a general overview of the steps involved in reloading:

🛠️ Gather Equipment and Components: Ensure you have the necessary reloading equipment, such as a reloading press, dies, powder scale, case trimmer, and priming tool. Additionally, gather .350 Legend brass, bullets, primers, and appropriate powder.

🛠️ Inspect Brass: Before starting the reloading process, inspect your brass for any signs of damage or defects. Discard any cases that are excessively worn, cracked, or otherwise compromised.

🛠️ Resize and Deprime: Use the appropriate resizing die to resize the brass to the correct dimensions. This will ensure that the cases fit your firearm chamber properly. Deprime the cases to remove the spent primers.

🛠️ Clean Brass: Clean the resized and de-primed brass to remove any dirt, residue, or carbon buildup. You can use a tumbler or ultrasonic cleaner for this purpose.

🛠️ Trim and Chamfer: Check the case length using a case trimmer, and trim any cases that have stretched beyond the specified length. Chamfer the inside and outside of the case mouth to help seat bullets more smoothly.

🛠️ Prime: Prime the cleaned and prepped cases using the appropriate priming tool. Be careful during this step to ensure proper seating of the primers.

🛠️ Charge Powder: Use a reliable powder scale to measure the appropriate powder charge for the .350 Legend. Follow load data from reputable sources and always use the exact powder and charge weight specified.

🛠️ Seat Bullets: Use the appropriate bullet seating die to seat the bullets to the desired depth. Adjust the die carefully to achieve the correct overall cartridge length.

🛠️ Crimp (if necessary): Depending on your firearm and load, you may need to apply a slight crimp using a separate crimping die. This helps ensure consistent bullet tension.

🛠️ Final Inspection: After completing the reloading process, inspect each round for any defects or irregularities. Check for proper powder charge, bullet seating depth, and overall cartridge length.

❗ Always remember that reloading ammunition requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to published load data.

What bullet drop of .350 Legend?

✍️ The term “bullet drop” refers to the downward trajectory of a bullet as it travels downrange from the muzzle of the firearm. As a bullet leaves the barrel, it is affected by the force of gravity, which causes it to descend toward the ground in an arc-like path. Understanding bullet drop is essential for shooters, especially when engaging targets at various distances.

⭕ When discussing the bullet drop of the .350 Legend cartridge, several factors come into play:

🧩 Ballistic Coefficient (BC): The ballistic coefficient of a bullet is a measure of its aerodynamic efficiency. Higher BC bullets experience less air resistance and, therefore, retain velocity better, leading to less bullet drop over distance.

🧩 Muzzle Velocity: The initial speed at which the bullet leaves the muzzle significantly influences its trajectory. Higher muzzle velocities generally result in flatter trajectories and less bullet drop.

🧩 Bullet Weight: Heavier bullets tend to experience less wind drift but may have a more pronounced bullet drop compared to lighter bullets due to their greater mass.

🧩 Distance to Target: Bullet drop becomes more significant as the distance to the target increases. Over longer ranges, gravity’s effect becomes more pronounced, causing the bullet to descend more steeply.

🧩 Zeroing Distance: The point at which a shooter chooses to zero their rifle can also affect bullet drop. A zeroing distance of, for example, 100 yards means the bullet’s trajectory intersects with the line of sight at 100 yards, and the bullet will rise above the line of sight before eventually crossing it again at a further distance.

🔐 To account for bullet drop when shooting, many shooters utilize ballistic charts, ballistic calculators, or turret adjustments on rifle scopes, which provide data on bullet trajectories at various distances based on specific loads and shooting conditions.

350 Legend vs 450 Bushmaster: what difference?

✴️ The .350 Legend and the .450 Bushmaster are two popular cartridges designed for different purposes and applications. Let’s compare them in various aspects:

Caliber: The .350 Legend has a caliber of .355 inches, making it a modern straight-walled cartridge designed primarily for hunting medium-sized games. The .450 Bushmaster has a caliber of .452 inches and is a powerful cartridge designed for hunting larger game, including deer, hogs, and even bears.

Cartridge Type: The .350 Legend is a newer cartridge designed for use in both AR-style rifles and bolt-action rifles, with the advantage of meeting straight-walled cartridge requirements in certain regions. The .450 Bushmaster was developed for use in AR-style rifles, particularly for hunting in states where straight-walled cartridges are not required.

Ballistics: The .350 Legend typically fires lighter bullets at higher velocities than the .450 Bushmaster. It offers a flatter trajectory and is better suited for shots at moderate distances. The .450 Bushmaster fires heavier bullets at lower velocities, which can limit its effective range compared to the .350 Legend.

Recoil: The .350 Legend has relatively low recoil, making it comfortable for a wide range of shooters. The .450 Bushmaster generates higher recoil due to its more powerful and heavier loads.

Hunting Applications: The .350 Legend is suitable for hunting medium-sized game, such as deer and hogs, due to its energy transfer and terminal performance. It is particularly popular in areas with straight-walled cartridge requirements. The .450 Bushmaster is designed for hunting larger games at closer distances, making it a popular choice for thick brush and dense cover hunting.

Ammunition Availability: While the .350 Legend has been gaining popularity, its ammunition might be less widely available compared to more established cartridges like the .450 Bushmaster. The .450 Bushmaster has been around for longer and has a broader range of available ammunition options.

📌 In summary, the .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster are both effective cartridges for specific hunting applications. The .350 Legend is a more modern and versatile option, catering to states with straight-walled cartridge requirements, while the .450 Bushmaster is a potent choice for close-range hunting of larger game.

📺 More info in this video:

How far can a 350 Legend shoot accurately?

⚙️ The effective and accurate range depends on various factors, including the specific load, bullet type, firearm, shooter’s proficiency, and environmental conditions.

🎯 For most shooters, it is accurate and reliable up to approximately 200 to 250 yards. At these distances, the bullet trajectory is relatively flat, allowing shooters to make precise shots with minimal bullet drop.

🎯 Beyond 250 yards, the bullet drop becomes more pronounced, and external factors like wind and bullet velocity losses due to air resistance become more significant. As a result, hitting targets consistently at longer distances can be more challenging, and shots may require more holdover or elevation adjustments.

❗ Keep in mind that accuracy can vary from one firearm to another, as rifles have individual characteristics that may affect performance. Additionally, the shooter’s skill, shooting position, and environmental conditions, such as wind and atmospheric pressure, play crucial roles in accurate shooting at longer ranges.

Conclusion😉

In conclusion, the 350 Legend ammunition has earned its place as one of the best choices available, and it’s widespread adoption and favorable reception among hunters and shooters indicate that it is here to stay. Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or a recreational shooter, investing in quality ammo is sure to enhance your shooting experience and ensure optimal results in the field or at the range. We hope the info above will help you to make a proper choice! Good luck!🤠👍

I just got myself a Ruger American Ranch in .350 Legend, and so far, I’ve only had a chance to try out the Winchester Super X-Rifle 350 Legend Ammo 180 Grain for a quick sight-in. Now, I’m curious to know what cartridges others are finding to be the most accurate from their rifles. If you have any recommendations or experiences with different ammo options, I’d love to hear them!

I personally tested four different loads for my Ruger American Ranch in .350 Legend. The Winchester Defender 350 Legend Ammo 160 Grain load stood out as the best performer. It impressed me with its tight groupings, averaging 3 shots within 3/4″ at 100 yards. Last year, I used this very load to harvest a big 10-pointer, and this year, it helped me take down a smaller 11-pointer and a doe. The doe dropped instantly, and the bucks didn’t make it more than 40 yards each. The longest shot I took was at 70 yards.

I had a friend who made an impressive shot with his 350 Legend this year. He dropped a deer in its tracks at over 100 yards using a high-shoulder shot. It’s amazing to hear success stories like that, and it really makes me excited about this new cartridge. I’ve been researching different ammo options, and I’ve come across the recommendation of using the Federal Premium Power-Shok 350 Legend Ammo 180 Grain. Apparently, it’s a fantastic combination of both velocity and accuracy, which is exactly what you are looking for.

Not only did it group well on paper during our target practice, but it performed admirably on the deer during the hunts as well. The combination of this ammo and the .350 Legend has proven to be a reliable and effective choice for our hunting needs.

I’m looking for some advice and experience with 350 Legend ammo specifically for white-tail hunting. I know the selection might not be extensive, but I’ve noticed several options available on the shelves, and I’m curious to know what people prefer the most. Any suggestions, personal experiences, or data on different ammo options would be greatly appreciated!

In my experience, I’ve found the best accuracy with the Hornady American Whitetail 350 Legend Ammo 170 Grain. It has performed well for me in terms of accuracy.

I’m currently trying to decide which 350 Legend to get. Any suggestion?

I just got my hands on a 350 Legend, the CVA Scout. It’s a single shot break action rifle, not a bolt-action. Here in IL, straightwall cartridges are new for us this year, and the laws require using single shot rifles, although bolt actions are allowed if you don’t have a magazine attached (or if the magazine is blocked). Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to take it out for shooting yet. However, just holding it in my hands, I can say that it feels fantastic, and the build quality seems top-notch. I’m really excited about its compact size, especially compared to my old Mossberg 500 12ga shotgun. Can’t wait to finally try it out and see how it performs!

In my CVA Scout chambered in 350 Legend, I found that the Winchester Power Max Bonded 350 Legend Ammo 160 Grain performed the best. It could be that my rifle specifically prefers this weight, but I haven’t tested all available options. I’m happy with my choice and looking forward to further exploring the capabilities of my rifle with this ammunition.
