One of the standout advantages of this trigger system is its improved trigger pull. With a crisp break and a pull weight of 4.5 pounds, plus or minus 0.5 pounds, you'll experience a smooth and consistent trigger pull that enhances your shooting accuracy and control. How to reassemble it?🛠️

The process of reassembling a Franklin Armory binary trigger is fairly straightforward and requires only a few basic tools.

  • ⏰ First, begin by disconnecting the trigger group from the lower receiver by removing the two pins that hold it in place. It’s important to note that these pins must be removed for the trigger group to be removed from the lower receiver.
  • ⏰ Next, locate the hammer spring and safety plunger components within the trigger group. This should be done carefully as they are both connected to other internal parts and can easily come off during removal. When these components have been identified, slowly remove them from their housing, being sure not to displace any of the other internals.
  • ⏰ Once all components have been removed, begin reassembling them in reverse order beginning with the hammer spring and safety plunger before moving on to larger parts such as the trigger itself and finally connecting everything back together using the two pins that originally held it in place.

FAQ🤓

A binary trigger can be modified?

💡 Modifying a binary trigger can be a complex task and may have legal implications.

  •  🧑‍🔧 It’s important to note that modifying firearms, including triggers, should be done in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  •  🧑‍🔧 It is recommended to consult with a qualified gunsmith or firearm expert who has experience with binary triggers before attempting any modifications.

❗ While some binary triggers may offer limited adjustability or have optional accessories available from the manufacturer, it’s important to follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and recommendations regarding modifications.

How does a binary trigger work?

🟦 A binary trigger is a type of firearm trigger system that allows for a unique firing mode. It enables the firearm to fire one round both when the trigger is pulled and when the trigger is released. This results in a two-shot burst for each cycle of the trigger. Here’s a simplified explanation of how a binary trigger works:

  • ✔️ Position 1: In the first position, the trigger operates like a standard semi-automatic trigger. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer is released, striking the firing pin, and firing a single round. This is the same as the operation of a typical semi-automatic firearm.
  • ✔️ Position 2 (Binary Mode): In the binary mode, when the trigger is pulled, the hammer is released just like in Position 1, firing the first round. However, when the trigger is released, the trigger mechanism resets, allowing the hammer to be caught by a secondary sear or release mechanism. As a result, when the trigger is released, it releases the hammer again, firing a second round. This allows for a rapid-fire burst of two shots with each cycle of the trigger (one on the pull and one on the release).

⚡ Always prioritize safety and follow proper firearm handling practices when using a binary trigger or any firearm.

Are all binary triggers the same?

😉 No, binary triggers can vary in design, functionality, and compatibility with different firearms. While they generally share the concept of firing one round on the trigger pull and another round on the trigger release, the specific features and operation can differ between different binary triggers. Here are a few key differences you may encounter when comparing binary triggers:

  • ❇️ Compatibility: Binary triggers are often designed for specific firearm platforms or models. They may have different compatibility requirements, such as being designed for AR-15 rifles, AK-pattern rifles, or specific pistol models. It’s important to ensure that the binary trigger you choose is compatible with your specific firearm.
  • ❇️ Installation: These triggers can have different installation methods and requirements. Some binary triggers may require gunsmithing or modification of the firearm, while others are designed for drop-in installation, meaning they can be installed without permanent modifications.
  • ❇️ Mode Selection: Some triggers offer multiple firing modes, allowing you to switch between binary mode and a standard semi-automatic mode or safe mode. This can provide flexibility in adapting the trigger to different shooting scenarios or preferences.
  • ❇️ Design and Operation: Binary triggers can vary in their design and operation, including factors such as trigger pull weight, reset characteristics, and overall feel. These differences can influence the shooting experience and user preference.
Are binary triggers automatic?

🤨 No, binary triggers are not automatic in the traditional sense. While they allow for a rapid-fire burst of two shots with each cycle of the trigger, they do not convert a firearm into a fully automatic weapon.

  • ⌛️ In a fully automatic firearm, the firearm continues to fire as long as the trigger is held down or until the ammunition is depleted, without the need to release and reset the trigger. This results in the sustained automatic fire as long as the trigger remains depressed.
  • ⌛️ Binary triggers, on the other hand, fire one round on the trigger pull and another round on the trigger release. After the trigger is released, the trigger mechanism resets and the process needs to be repeated for each subsequent shot. This binary firing mode does not offer sustained automatic fire but rather a burst of two shots per trigger cycle.
Can I use a binary trigger for self-defense?

✍️ The suitability of using a binary trigger for self-defense is a complex and subjective matter. It depends on various factors, including legal considerations, personal preferences, and the specific self-defense scenario. Here are some key points to consider:

  • 🔰 Legal Considerations: The use of firearms for self-defense is subject to local laws and regulations that can vary significantly. It’s crucial to familiarize yourself with the specific laws in your jurisdiction regarding the use and possession of firearms, including any restrictions on binary triggers or specific firing modes. Ensure that your intended use of a binary trigger aligns with the legal requirements and limitations.
  • 🔰 Training and Familiarity: Self-defense situations are often highly stressful and require quick and accurate decision-making. If you choose to use a binary trigger for self-defense, it’s important to receive proper training and practice extensively with the firearm equipped with the binary trigger. This will help you develop the necessary skills and muscle memory to effectively and safely handle the firearm in high-stress situations.
  • 🔰 Accuracy and Control: Binary triggers can allow for a rapid burst of two shots with each trigger cycle. While this burst of shots may offer advantages in certain scenarios, it also requires careful control and accuracy to ensure that rounds are placed effectively and avoid unintended collateral damage. It’s essential to consider the potential risks and challenges associated with using a binary trigger for self-defense and evaluate whether it aligns with your abilities and comfort level.
  • 🔰 Legal and Public Perception: It’s worth considering the legal and public perception of using a binary trigger in a self-defense scenario. Some jurisdictions may view the use of binary triggers differently, and the legal implications and potential consequences can vary. Additionally, public perception and the scrutiny surrounding the use of certain firearm modifications should be taken into account.

Conclusion😊

To sum up, the Franklin Armory binary trigger is a great option for those looking to add an extra layer of control and accuracy to their shooting. It offers a unique firing experience that allows you to fire two shots with each pull of the trigger, making it perfect for fast-paced competitions or self-defense situations. We hope this article helped you to research all available options and now you can select the binary trigger for your needs!😉❤️‍🔥

I purchased a Franklin Armory BFSIII 22-C1 Trigger for my 10/22 some time ago and had it sent to my local gun store for installation. They mentioned that it can be a bit challenging to install and might require some tuning, especially compared to the AR15 version. Unfortunately, it’s been a month since I dropped it off at the gunsmith, and it’s still not ready. I’m eager to get it back and start shooting, as I usually enjoy plinking at steel targets in my backyard. I’m feeling frustrated and disappointed because the gun store initially estimated that it would only take a few days. At this point, I’m considering retrieving the trigger system myself and attempting the installation. I’m curious to know if others here have experience with this trigger and if they can confirm whether the installation process is indeed as difficult as my gun store suggests.

I can’t speak for the binary trigger specifically, but I want to assure you that you don’t need to be a professional engineer to disassemble and reassemble a 10/22. I’m quite familiar with the process and can confidently say that it’s not a complicated gun to work on. I’m fairly confident that I could take it apart and put it back together even blindfolded, except for maybe the more intricate parts of the trigger/sear/disconnect assembly. 10/22s are known for their simplicity and ease of maintenance. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t solely rely on that gunsmith’s estimation of the installation difficulty. It might be worth considering retrieving the trigger and giving the installation a try yourself.

Hey, don’t be intimidated by the trigger installation. If you’re already comfortable with mechanical tasks, I can assure you that it’s not overly difficult, even for a first-timer like myself. The only challenging part is maneuvering the pieces into the narrow space while holding them together. Since you’ve already invested in the trigger, it’s important to run the necessary safety checks, but honestly, there’s not much a gunsmith can do that you can’t. The trigger system is designed to be safe and user-friendly, so as long as you follow the proper procedures, you should be good to go.

I’m planning to upgrade several components of my rifle, including a muzzle brake, a TiN or NiB bolt carrier group, and a new trigger. However, I’m torn between choosing binary triggers. I wanted to gather some insights and opinions from you guys to help me make a decision. I’m particularly curious about the reliability of the binary triggers and whether they are considered a gimmick or if they offer real practical benefits.

I have the Franklin Armory BFSIII B&T-C1 Trigger, and I must say it performs exceptionally well. I’ve tested it extensively with Tula steel ammo, and it runs flawlessly. Initially, I did encounter some reliability issues with the 9mm version when using steel and brass ammunition. However, after switching to the heavier hammer spring, all those issues disappeared, and the trigger has been functioning perfectly ever since. I’ve had no further failures or malfunctions.
