In terms of powder selection, I’ve found H4350 to be my go-to choice, delivering consistent performance. However, I’ve also achieved excellent results with AA4350 and RL-17 powders. Ultimately, the choice of caliber is a personal one, and I respect that it’s your money to allocate as you see fit. However, if I were the one holding the checkbook, you can bet that, unless an unexpected windfall came my way, the .300 WSM wouldn’t be my first pick.
Is the .300 WSM overkill for white-tailed deer at distances of around 200 yards? That’s the question I’ve been pondering.
