Benefits of CMC trigger

How to install it?🧑‍🔧

Installing a CMC trigger is relatively simple, though the exact steps may vary depending on your model of the trigger. Generally, there are five key steps to install and set up your trigger:

  • 🛠️ Firstly, you’ll need to be sure that your firearm is unloaded and that all safety precautions have been taken. This is a crucial step when working with any type of firearm, so make sure that you’re following all safety protocols before proceeding.
  • 🛠️ Next, check the instructions that came with your trigger to ensure that it’s compatible with your particular firearm and understand how it works.
  • 🛠️ Make sure that the exterior of the trigger is free of any debris or dirt, and then remove the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) stock trigger from your gun.
  • 🛠️ Using either an Allen wrench or Torx screwdriver (depending on which one came with your trigger), remove the original screws from the receiver and mount the new trigger in its place. Remember to use Loctite adhesive on the screws if necessary so that nothing moves or rattles while firing.
  • 🛠️ Once everything is tightened down securely, test out your new trigger by dry-firing it a few times to get familiar with how it feels and functions when pulled slowly and quickly with varying amounts of pressure before finally loading it up for real-world use!

Geissele vs CMC – 2 Stage vs Single Stage Trigger💡

Are you wondering which trigger is the best choice for your AR-15 rifle? When it comes to picking a trigger, it can be a difficult decision. Both of these brands offer reliable and high-quality triggers, but some key differences between them may help to determine which one is the best fit for your needs.

📢 When comparing Geissele vs CMC triggers, one major difference to consider is that Geissele offers both two-stage and single-stage triggers while CMC only offers single-stage options.

  • 🔷 Two-stage triggers are typically preferred by competitive shooters and hunters because they offer more control over when the trigger fires. These triggers have a long pull with a light initial resistance followed by a short second stage with heavier resistance. This allows the shooter to take their time and prepare for an accurate shot.
  • 🔷 Single-stage triggers, on the other hand, have a shorter pull with consistent resistance throughout. This makes them ideal for defensive use when speed is of the essence.

📢 When it comes to popular models:

  • 🔷 Geissele’s SSA and SSA-E triggers are some of their most popular options. The SSA trigger is designed for precision shooting applications while the SSA-E has been optimized for close-quarters defensive use. Both of these triggers feature a two-stage design with light initial pull weight and hard break at the final stage.
  • 🔷 CMC’s AR-15 drop-in trigger group is one of their best sellers as well due to its simplicity and affordability. This trigger features a single-stage design with no adjustment needed for installation and consistent, light pull weight.

📢 When selecting the best trigger for your AR-15 rifle, it’s important to consider all of the above factors as well as your own needs and preferences.

  • 🔷 For example, if you are searching for precision accuracy in an application such as target shooting, then a two-stage trigger may be the better choice.
  • 🔷 However, if you need speed and reliability in defensive or tactical use cases then a single-stage trigger will likely be more suitable.

FAQ😎

How long does CMC trigger last?

😉 CMC triggers are known for their high-quality construction and durability. While the lifespan of triggers can vary depending on factors such as usage, maintenance, and environmental conditions, they are designed to be long-lasting and reliable.

  • 🟣 With proper care and regular maintenance, a trigger can last for thousands of rounds. The specific lifespan will also depend on the specific model and type of trigger, as CMC offers a range of trigger options for different firearms and shooting preferences.

👍 In summary, CMC triggers are built to be durable and can provide reliable performance for thousands of rounds with proper care and maintenance.

Are these triggers adjustable?

😀 Yes, CMC triggers offer adjustable options for some of their trigger models. They provide different trigger pull weights or pre-travel adjustments to meet individual shooter preferences.

  • ✔️ For example, CMC’s AR-15/AR-10 Drop-In Trigger can be found in both single-stage and two-stage configurations. The single-stage version typically has a fixed trigger pull weight, while the two-stage version allows for adjustment of the first and second stages, providing a customized trigger feel.

📌 It’s important to note that not all triggers are adjustable. Some models are designed with a fixed trigger to pull weight or pre-set characteristics to deliver consistent and reliable performance. Therefore, it’s crucial to review the specifications and features of the specific CMC trigger model you are considering to determine if it offers adjustability.

What materials are such triggers made from?

✍️ CMC triggers are crafted using high-quality materials to ensure durability, reliability, and consistent performance. The specific materials used may vary depending on the model and type of trigger, but here are some common materials:

  • 🧩 Trigger Shoe: The trigger shoe, the part where the shooter’s finger rests, is typically made from aluminum alloy. This material is chosen for its lightweight nature and resistance to corrosion.
  • 🧩 Trigger Bar: The trigger bar, which interacts with the sear and other components of the firearm, is often made from steel. Steel is known for its strength and durability, allowing it to withstand the forces involved in the firing process.
  • 🧩 Springs and Pins: Triggers utilize high-quality springs and pins to ensure proper functioning and reliability. Springs are commonly made from steel and are designed to provide consistent tension and reset. Pins, such as trigger and hammer pins, are typically made from stainless steel for corrosion resistance and durability.
  • 🧩 Coatings and Finishes: Triggers often feature various coatings and finishes to enhance performance and protect against corrosion. These may include coatings such as NP3, which provides excellent lubricity and corrosion resistance, or Type III hard coat anodization for added durability.
What is the safest trigger type?

🤓 When it comes to firearm triggers, there isn’t a universally defined “safest” trigger type. The safety of a trigger largely depends on its design, the firearm it’s installed in, and how it is used and maintained. However, there are different trigger types commonly found in firearms, each with its characteristics and considerations for safety:

  • 🔵 Single-Action: Single-action triggers require the hammer to be manually cocked before firing. When the trigger is pulled, it releases the hammer, causing the firearm to discharge. Single-action triggers are often found in firearms like single-action revolvers and certain semi-automatic pistols. They generally have a consistent and light trigger pull, but they require careful handling to prevent accidental discharges.
  • 🔵 Double-Action: Double-action triggers can perform two actions: cocking the hammer and releasing it to fire. Pulling the trigger both cocks and releases the hammer, making it a longer and heavier trigger pull compared to single-action triggers. Double-action triggers are commonly found in revolvers and some semi-automatic pistols. The longer and heavier trigger pull can contribute to a higher level of safety as it requires deliberate action to fire the firearm.
  • 🔵 Striker-Fired: Striker-fired triggers are commonly found in many modern semi-automatic pistols. They have a consistent trigger pull and operate by releasing a spring-loaded striker to strike the firing pin and ignite the primer. Striker-fired triggers typically have a lighter and shorter trigger pull compared to double-action triggers, but they often feature various safety mechanisms, such as trigger safeties or internal safeties, to prevent accidental discharges.

📌 It’s essential to note that regardless of trigger type, safe firearm handlings practices, such as proper grip, finger discipline, and adherence to the four fundamental rules of firearm safety, are crucial for ensuring safety. Additionally, some firearms may have additional safety features, such as manual thumb safeties or trigger safeties, that add an extra layer of precaution.

Are gun triggers sensitive?

📢 Gun triggers can have varying levels of sensitivity depending on factors such as the trigger design, trigger weight, and any modifications made to the trigger system. Here are some key points to consider regarding trigger sensitivity:

  • ✒️ Trigger Design: Different firearm models and types can have different trigger designs. Some triggers may have a shorter, lighter pull, while others may have a longer and heavier pull. The design and mechanism of the trigger can impact its sensitivity.
  • ✒️ Trigger Weight: Trigger weight refers to the amount of force required to pull the trigger and discharge the firearm. Triggers can have different weight specifications, ranging from light to heavy. Lighter triggers typically require less force to pull and may be considered more sensitive, while heavier triggers require more force and can be perceived as less sensitive.
  • ✒️ Trigger Modifications: Some gun owners may choose to modify their triggers to adjust the sensitivity to their liking. Modifications can include changing the trigger pull weight, reducing trigger travel distance, or installing aftermarket trigger components. These modifications can potentially affect trigger sensitivity.

Conclusion😊

Choosing the best CMC trigger for your needs can be a daunting task. With so many options available, it’s important to find one that suits you and meets all of your requirements. We hope this guide has helped provide useful information on how to pick the right trigger for you. Remember: always do research and take into account any feedback from other users before making a purchase decision! Good luck and happy shooting!🤠👍

About six months ago, I managed to snag a CMC AR-15 Tactical Trigger Group at a decent price. However, I’ve recently encountered an issue where the trigger fails to reset after approximately 300 rounds. Initially, I suspected light primer strikes, but after manipulating the trigger a bit, the rounds eventually fire. This problem seems to occur every 10 to 15 rounds. Additionally, I’ve noticed that the trigger has a crunchy and mushy feel to it. At this point, I’m uncertain whether this issue stems from an installation error on my part or a problem with drop-in triggers in general.

I’ve personally put only a couple hundred rounds through my CMC Triggers AR-15/AR-10 Single Stage Drop-In Competition Trigger, and so far, I haven’t encountered any issues. However, I did come across some reviews mentioning the reset problem you mentioned. If I happen to experience that issue with mine, I’m confident that I’ll be able to figure out a solution. It can’t be too complicated to address.

I’ve had a great experience with my CMC Triggers AR Single Stage Trigger. They function smoothly and provide a satisfying feel. In regards to the reset issue you mentioned, one possible solution could be to blast the trigger assembly with carb cleaner. This might help remove any debris or buildup that could be causing the problem.

While I haven’t measured the exact pull weight of my CMC trigger, it does feel heavier than 3.5 lbs. Nevertheless, I can confidently say that there is no slack in the trigger. It provides a solid wall before breaking with a crisp and distinct feel. The reset is impressively short, allowing for quick follow-up shots.
