There are a few different ways to install a scope mount on a Remington 700, and the best method will depend on the type of mount you’re using.

If you’re using a weaver-style mount, for example, you’ll need to first remove the factory-installed bases. To do this, simply unscrew the screws that hold the bases in place and then lift them off of the gun. Next, align the Weaver mount with the holes in the receiver and then screw it in place.

If you’re using a Picatinny-style rail, you’ll need to first remove the factory-installed bolt stop pin. To do this, drive out the pin from right to left with a punch or Allen key. Next, align the rail with the holes in the receiver and then screw it in place.

For both types of mounts, be sure to use blue Loctite on the screws to prevent them from coming loose over time. You should also check the screws periodically to make sure they’re still tight.

The most common and easiest method is to use ring mounts. Ring mounts are available in a variety of sizes and diameters to fit any size or caliber of gun, so all you need to do is select the right ring mounts for your Remington 700.

Once you have the ring mounts, simply screw them into place on the receiver using the provided screws. Normally, it is best to use three rings per side (for a total of six), but some people prefer to use only two per side. This depends on your preference and how many accessories you plan on attaching to your gun. If you only plan on attaching a scope, then two rings per side should be plenty. However, if you anticipate attaching a bipod, flashlight, and/or laser sight in addition to scope, then you will probably want to use three rings per side.

Once the ring mounts are installed, you can then attach your scope using the provided screws. Again, the number of screws you use will depend on your preference and the number of accessories you have attached. If you are only using a scope, then two screws per side should be plenty. However, if you have a bipod, flashlight, and/or laser sight mounted as well, then you will probably want to use four screws per side.

There are a few things you need to do before you can install a scope mount on your Remington 700.

  • First, make sure the rifle is unloaded and that the chamber is clear.
  • Second, remove the bolt from the gun by pushing down on the bolt handle and pulling it rearward.
  • Third, use an Allen wrench to remove the screws that hold the stock in place.
  • Fourth, insert your scope mount into the grooves on top of the receiver and secure it in place with screws.
  • Finally, replace the stock onto the gun and reattach it with screws. Be sure to tighten all screws evenly so that nothing rubs or wobbles.

Once you have installed your scope mount, it’s important to bore sight of your rifle. This simply means aligning the scope with the barrel so that you can see where your bullet will hit at a given distance. You can bore sight of your rifle by looking through the scope at an object 25 yards away and adjusting the windage and elevation screws until the crosshairs are lined up with the object. Once you have done this, you can make finer adjustments at the range to ensure that your rifle is properly sighted in.

First, you’ll need to attach the rings to the base. Four screws come with the rings, and you’ll need to use two of them for each ring. Once the rings are attached, you can then attach the scope to the rings.

Be sure to align the reticle (crosshair) in the center of the eyepiece before attaching the screws that hold the scope in place. Once everything is tightened down, you’re ready to sight in your rifle.

There are many other ways to install a scope mount, so be sure to consult your owner’s manual or a qualified gunsmith if you have any questions.

There are a few things you need to take into account when installing a scope mount on a Remington 700. For starters, you’ll need to make sure that your rifle is properly calibrated for the scope mount you’re using. You should also be familiar with the specific screws and bolts that come with your particular scope mount.

In addition, it’s important to use high-quality screws and bolts when installing a scope mount on a Remington 700. This will help ensure that your rifle is stable and secure and that the scope mount won’t loosen over time. Remember to use thread locker on all screws and bolts as well, to keep them from coming loose in the future.
