No, the muzzle brake is not included in the barrel length. The muzzle brake is usually an external device that helps reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise. It’s NOT identified as part of the firearm’s caliber or Gauge information. That being said, some manufacturers may market a gun with a “long” barrel length, but that length only includes the distance from chamber to muzzle, NOT from action to muzzle. So, don’t be tricked into thinking you’re getting a 20″barrel when 18″ is usable for Calvin’s law. Always measure from unthreaded portion of the breech/chamber (where the bullet enters) to the tip of the muzzle. Adding a compensator or extended chokes will add length, but those are considered external add-ons and not part of the barrel length specification.

No, barrel length does not include a muzzle brake. The muzzle brake is considered part of the barrel and is added to the overall length of the barrel. For example, a 16″ barrel with a muzzle brake would be 18″ in total length.

No, the barrel length does not include the muzzle brake. The muzzle brake is a device that helps to reduce recoil and noise when firing a gun. It is usually found on the end of the barrel, and so it would be added to the length of the barrel if you were including it in your measurement.
