What is the Glock Lower Parts Kit? 😉
It is a set of all the internal parts needed to complete a Glock pistol frame. This set is typically used to build custom Glock pistols from scratch or to replace worn or damaged parts in existing Glock pistols. They can also be used to convert a Glock pistol from one generation to another.
|📌 Trigger assembly||This is the main trigger component that you pull to fire the handgun. It includes the trigger, trigger bar, connector, and firing pin safety.|
|📌 Locking block||A block that fits inside the frame and contains the locking lug that engages the slide’s ejection port when the gun is in battery. It provides a secure lockup between the barrel and the slide.|
|📌 Trigger spring||Provides tension to reset the trigger after firing. This spring pushes the trigger bar forward.|
|📌 Firing pin safety spring||Pushes up on the firing pin safety to enable it to block the firing pin until the trigger is pulled.|
|📌 Extractor depressor plunger assembly||Contains a spring-loaded plunger that keeps downward tension on the extractor, allowing it to properly grab the rim of cartridges for extraction.|
|📌 Extractor spring||Provides tension to the extractor so it snaps over and extracts spent cartridge cases.|
|📌 Slide lock spring||Presses upward on the slide lock so it engages the slide’s cutout when the magazine is empty.|
|📌 Magazine catch assembly||Contains the magazine release button and spring. Allows for easy removal of the magazine by pressing the button.|
|📌 Trigger housing with ejector||Encases the trigger assembly and houses the internal ejector which ejects spent rounds.|
⚪ Firstly, the trigger assembly is a crucial component, allowing the user to pull the trigger and fire the handgun. It contains the curved trigger itself, trigger bar, connector, and firing pin safety. The smooth, rolling trigger pull is a hallmark of Glock pistols. The connector transfers the trigger’s rearward motion into the firing sequence. The firing pin safety is a pivotal internal safety that blocks the firing pin until the trigger is pulled all the way to the rear.
⚪ Secondly, the locking block is a precisely machined steel block that fits into the polymer frame and houses the locking lug that engages the slide’s ejection port. This provides a sturdy interface between the barrel/slide and frame for accurate shooting. The precision fit of the locking block contributes to Glock’s reputation for reliability.
⚪ Moreover, the trigger and firing pin safety springs provide the proper tensioning for the firing mechanism and safety to operate. The trigger spring returns the trigger forward after firing, while the firing pin safety spring keeps upward tension on the safety. Proper spring tension is essential for smooth trigger pull and safety functions.
⚪ Finally, the slide lock spring keeps upward tension on the slide lock so that it engages the slide’s cutout when the magazine is empty. This locks the slide back, signalling that the gun is empty. The magazine catch assembly allows quick, easy removal of the magazine by pressing the magazine release button.
🟣 One of the primary benefits of a Glock LPK is the ability to fine-tune trigger control. Components like a 3.5lb connector and trigger housing result in a lighter and smoother trigger pull, leading to better accuracy, reduced trigger jerk, and improved follow-through during shots.
🟣 Glock LPKs allow firearm enthusiasts to customize their Glock pistols to suit their preferences and shooting styles. By replacing standard parts with LPK components, users can create a firearm that feels more tailored to their needs, whether it’s for competition shooting, self-defence, or target practice.
🟣 From our experience, we can say that upgrading to a Glock LPK can provide a competitive edge in shooting competitions. The smoother trigger pull and improved components, such as the extended slide release and magazine release, enable faster and more precise shooting, which is valuable in timed or competitive shooting events.
🟣 Upgraded LPK components can lead to a shorter trigger reset, allowing for faster follow-up shots, which can be advantageous in situations requiring rapid fire or multiple shots, such as self-defence scenarios.

As avid Glock owners and enthusiasts, our team learned the proper way to clean a Glock lower parts kit over the years. Here’s our step-by-step guide, from personal experience:
✅ First, we field-strip the handgun as outlined in the Glock manual, removing the slide, barrel, recoil spring assembly, and magazine. We lock the slide back using the slide stop to release the tension on the firing pin.
✅ Then, we use a Glock disassembly tool to depress the extractor plunger, allowing me to remove the extractor and firing pin for deeper cleaning later. With the extractor removed, we have an opportunity to lift out the locking block and remove the trigger mechanism housing.
✅ Now with full access, we use compressed air to blow out any debris or residue around the trigger assembly, trigger/firing pin springs, and interior of the magazine well. Based on our experience we recommend inspecting it for any obvious damage or abnormal wear.
✅ Using a nylon brush dipped in solvent, we gently scrub the trigger bar, connector, trigger and sear surfaces to remove any built-up carbon or fouling. It is important to take care of any engagement surfaces and springs.
✅ For the metal components like the extractor, firing pin, and locking block, we used different methods, but it turned out that a copper brush and solvent to break up stubborn carbon deposits or fouling. We wipe down with a rag and oil lightly.
✅ After cleaning, we reassemble using a little bit of lube on the mating surfaces of the trigger bar and connector. It is advised to test the fully reassembled lower with snap caps to ensure smooth operation.
Follow the Glock manual and use proper tools to avoid damaging any components. Regular cleaning contributes to the reliability of your Glock pistol.
