How to Install 458 Socom Muzzle brake
- Every time before mounting or dismounting a muzzle brake on the 458 SOCOM, unload the firearm and keep it empty.
- Follow the instructions, attach the muzzle brake properly orienting it, minding its ports should be perpendicular to the rifle vertical axis.
- To install a muzzle device duly sized shims are needed. A crush washer allows simplifying the muzzle brake timing. Use a size crush washer or shim to line up the muzzle device properly.
- Perceive the barrel edge like a clock face, the muzzle brake needs to be aligned with the barrel at 12 o’clock. To ensure the required timing, put the crush washer or shim and tighten the muzzle device firmly with your hand to the 10 o’clock point. Fix the brake until it lines with the 12 o’clock position on the barrel (a 3/4 inch open-end), and an AR15 armorer’s wrench can come in handy for this.
- Tighten the device in short increments without over fixing it and not overpassing the 12 o’clock point.
- After the muzzle brake installation, a silencer can be attached straight to it, if necessary.
