Pinning an AR-15 stock is a pretty simple process, but there are a few things you need to know before you start.

How to pin an AR 15 stock?

First, make sure that the gun is unloaded and there is no magazine inserted. Next, locate the two Allen screws on the underside of the stock. These screws hold the stock in place and need to be removed to pin the stock.

Once the screws are removed, slide the stock off of the gun. You will now see two metal plates with notches cut into them. These plates are called receiver extension endplates, and they are what hold the stock onto the gun. To pin the stock, you will need to drill a hole through both of these endplates.

Now, take your drill bit and drill a hole through both endplates. Make sure that the hole is large enough for the pin that you will be using. Once the hole is drilled, insert the pin into the hole. You may need to use a hammer to tap the pin into place.

Once the pin is in place, reassemble the gun and make sure that the stock is secure. That’s all there is to it!

There are a variety of ways to pin an AR-15 stock, depending on the specific model of gun and stock you have.

  • The most common method is to use a set screw that goes through the top or bottom of the tang, into the existing hole in the stock.
  • Another method is to epoxy or glues the back end of the buffer tube extension onto the face of the buttstock. This can be done with either permanent (i.e., JB Weld) or removable (i.e., Blue Loctite) adhesives.
  • Finally, some stocks have provisions for a drill-through pin that goes through both the extension and buttstock.

Regardless of which method you choose, always be sure to verify that the stock is securely pinned before firing the weapon.

Assuming you’re referring to an AR-15 style rifle, there are a few different ways to install a stock. If you’re simply changing out the stock for a different one, the process is relatively straightforward. However, if you’re installing a stock for the first time, there are a few more steps involved.

To install a new stock on an AR-15, first, remove the old one by unscrewing the buffer tube screw at the back of the receiver. With the old stock removed, take a look at the inside of the buffer tube. There should be two metal tabs known as “rattle plates.” These are there to keep the buffer spring in place and prevent it from rattling around inside the tube. If your new stock doesn’t have rattle plates, you’ll need to transfer them from the old stock.

To install the new stock, first, thread the buffer tube onto the back of the receiver. Next, insert the buffer spring into the buffer tube. If your new stock has rattle plates, they should already be in place.

There are a few different ways to pin an AR-15 stock, depending on the desired result. For example, if you want to increase the stability of the stock, you can use thicker pins. Or, if you need to make sure the stock doesn’t come off during firing, you can use oversized or locking pins. Finally, there are also ways to adjust the tension on the stock itself, which can be accessed by loosening or tightening the screws that hold it in place.

The most common way is to use a gunsmithing kit and follow the instructions included with it. This method will require you to disassemble your gun slightly, but it will be the most secure way to ensure that your stock is pinned correctly.

Another option is to use a hand drill and drill through the rear trunnion fascia to create a hole for the stock pin. This method is simpler and doesn’t require as much disassembly, but it’s not as secure since there’s potential for the pin to slip out over time.

Either way, make sure that you test the fit of the stock pin before permanently attaching it, and be sure to use Loctite or another thread-locking compound to keep it in place once it’s been installed.
